Mark Heaney is also a prolific drummer from London who started playing drums at the age of 9. He is a renowned solo drumming artist and session drummer.
He has recorded, collaborated and toured worldwide with countless artists and producers such as Mark Howard (Bob Dylan, U2, Neil Young), John Squire (The Stone Roses and The Seahorses), Si Tong, Simon Jones and Nick Mccabe (The Verve), Tomayasu Hotei, The Freelance Hellraiser, Klaxons, Badly Drawn Boy, Shit Disco, Howie Day, Gail Ann Dorsey (David Bowie, Gwen Stefani, The The), Threshold, Youth, Garrett Lee, David Botrill, Andy Gill and many others.
He was also long time member of Post Punk Icons Gang of Four and John Squires Seahorses.
An accomplished composer he has created work in genres from Cinematic to ambient soundscapes for many clients and production houses including De Wolfe, KPM, EMI, Sony, Wrong Planet, Extreme and many others.
His solo recordings see him fusing together a backdrop of expansive soundscapes created using tape machines and his own field recordings against his improvisational and in the moment Jazz drums.
